Our company started with a vision over ten years ago with its founders Actor/Musician Ahmad Givens “Real” and Hair Specialist/Product Educator Jovonna Moss. Ahmad Givens has distinguished himself as a spokes model for hair care, hair products and hair styles. Whether in television, radio or magazine interviews, the question are always about Ahmad’s hair.

Jovonna’s career began as a licensed cosmetologist in May 1998. In 1999 she became a licensed Cosmetology Instructor. She completed a course at UCLA Extension for Cosmetology teaching credentials. To enhance her professional and instructor skills, Jovonna attended classes at Vidal Sassoon. Her main focus of study was on hair chemistry, color chemistry and Trichology (the study of hair, its structure, chemical composition, and disorders/diseases of scalp and hair) and cutting. “I have always been an advocate for creating and maintaining beautiful healthy hair”, says Jovonna.

Jovonna has been Ahmad’s hairstylist for over ten years; she recalls his hair being a challenge in the beginning because of its texture. Jovonna has worked on thousands of heads, hair ranging from coarse, curly, straight, damaged, dry and healthy. But his hair was difficult because of its resistance to most products. The industry’s leading hair products didn’t meet the needs of Ahmad’s hair texture. With chemistry being Jovonna’s passion, they decided to formulate a Moisturizing Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner and Maintenance products specifically for Ahmad’s hair and all hair types. After experimenting with Nanotechnology and exotic raw materials, Jovonna finally found something that worked.
